Baseball Game Preview: San Jacinto Valley Academy Wolves vs. Perris Panthers

The San Jacinto Valley Academy Wolves will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on the Perris Panthers at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday.

San Jacinto Valley Academy is headed into their home opener looking to turn things around after starting their season on the road. They came up short against Xavier Prep on Tuesday, falling 13-0.

Meanwhile, Perris got the win against Rubidoux on Tuesday by a conclusive 13-5. The victory continues a trend for the Panthers in their matchups with the Falcons: they've now won three in a row.

Diego Velazco made a splash no matter where he played. He tossed 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (three). He was even better at the plate, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with three RBI and one double.

In other batting news, Adan Perez was excellent, scoring three runs and stealing two bases. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Joel Viera was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 1-for-3.

Everything went San Jacinto Valley Academy's way against Perris in their previous meeting back in March of 2024, as San Jacinto Valley Academy made off with an 11-5 win.
