On the hitting side, Naomi Gammon was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and one triple. Another player making a difference was Ella Hall, who went 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Todd County Central was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .316 or higher in nine consecutive games.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Franklin-Simpson, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They put the hurt on Westmoreland with a sharp 11-5 victory on Monday.
Lilly Ferguson and Kloie Smith did most of the damage at the plate: Ferguson went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and one double, while Smith went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Addison Shelton was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three runs and two RBI.
Todd County Central's win bumped their record up to 12-9. As for Franklin-Simpson, their victory bumped their record up to 17-11.
Tuesday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Todd County Central hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .341. However, it's not like Franklin-Simpson struggles in that department as they've averaged .317. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
