Baseball Recap: Campolindo Continues Home Dominance on Tuesday

There's no place like home for Campolindo, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Saturday. They won by a run and slipped past the Encinal Jets 5-4.

Dom Caruso tossed a big game, pitching 6.1 innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits.

At the plate, Miles Clayton was excellent, scoring a run while going 2-for-4. That's the most hits he has posted since back in May of 2024. Jonathan Wang also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Campolindo pushed their record up to 3-1 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of 3.29 runs across that stretch. As for Encinal, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-3 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Campolindo will challenge Amador Valley at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday. Amador Valley will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something Campolindo surely won't give up without a fight. As for Encinal, they will square off against St. Joseph Notre Dame at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Encinal's pitching crew has only allowed four runs per game this season, so St. Joseph Notre Dame's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
