Recap: Salmen Spartans vs. Madison Prep Academy
The Salmen Spartans's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their third straight loss. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 59-58 to Madison Prep Academy. Even though they lost, Salmen's still made a splash on offense and bumped their average scoring up to 50.5 points per game (they're now ranked -1th in scoring overall).
Despite the loss, Salmen still got an impressive performance from Destiny Bennett, who dropped a double-double on 26 points and 11 rebounds. The contest was Bennett's tenth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Akayla Mcmooain, who scored 11 points along with three steals.
Salmen has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-8 record this season. As for Madison Prep Academy, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-7.
Coincidentally, the pair will both be playing Woodlawn-B.R. the next time they take the court. Salmen will head out to face Woodlawn-B.R. at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, while Madison Prep Academy will head out to face them on January 8, 2024.
