Softball Recap: Taconic Triumphs

The home team had come away the winner the last six times Taconic and Wahconah Regional had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Thunder walked away with a 7-3 victory over the Warriors on Saturday. The win continues a trend for the Thunder in their matchups with the Warriors: they've now won three in a row.

Cheyann Goddard spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on six hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Toni Ahoussi, who went 3-for-4 with four RBI and one double. Those three hits gave her a new career-high.

Taconic now has a winning record of 7-6. As for Wahconah Regional, their defeat was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 3-7.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Taconic will host Hoosac Valley at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Wahconah Regional, they will welcome Mount Everett Regional at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
