Volleyball Recap: Vernon Hills Comes Up Short

Vernon Hills was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They fell 2-0 to the Barrington Fillies/Broncos. The Cougars were not able to make up for their defeat to the Fillies/Broncos from their previous meeting back in May of 2024.

Barrington got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Tyler Choukas out in front who had four digs and three aces. Those three aces gave Choukas a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Carson Skinner, who had 16 assists.

Vernon Hills' loss dropped their record down to 6-20. As for Barrington, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-6 record this season.

Vernon Hills wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 2-0 defeat against Glenbard West on the 9th. As for Barrington, they have also already played their next contest, a 2-0 loss against Maine South on the 9th.
