Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Waltonville walked away with it. They were the clear victor by a 64-41 margin over the Gibault Catholic Hawks on Wednesday. The Spartans have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 17 games by 20 points or more this season.

Gage Peterson continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double with 25 points and ten boards. He is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 50% in the last 19 games he's played. Another player making a difference was Kyle Cooper, who posted 12 points and six assists.

The victory was the eighth in a row for Waltonville, bringing their record for this year to 27-4. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 30 points. As for Gibault Catholic, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-23.

Waltonville didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 54-51 win against Steeleville on the 28th. Gibault Catholic does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
