Briarcrest Christian had to kick off their season on the road on Thursday, but they showed no ill effects. Everything went their way against the Evangelical Christian Eagles as they made off with a 48-28 win. With the Saints ahead 42-6 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.

Briarcrest Christian's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jd Donaldson, who picked up 103 receiving yards and a pair of scores, and also rushed for 65 yards and one touchdown on only five carries. Donaldson's longest reception was for an impressive 51 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per catch total. Hudson Tucker was another key passer, throwing for 191 yards and four TDs on only 13 passes.

Coming up, Briarcrest Christian will be playing at home against Kirby at 7:00 p.m. on the 29th. As for Evangelical Christian, they are taking a road trip to challenge University School of Jackson at 7:00 p.m. on the 29th.
