Grace Christian is headed out to face Harrells Christian Academy after opening their season at home and giving their fans just what they were looking for. Grace Christian was the clear victors by a 9-2 margin over GRACE Christian on Tuesday. The Crusaders haven't had any issues with the Eagles recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.
Hayley Pugh made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off 11 hits. Pugh was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.
In other batting news, Victoria Thomas was incredible, scoring a run while going 3-for-4. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in doubles (two). Abby Carville was another key player, scoring a run while going 3-for-4.
Grace Christian kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in five consecutive contests dating back to last season.
Meanwhile, Harrells Christian Academy got the win against Arendell Parrott Academy on Tuesday by a conclusive 14-5.
Like Grace Christian, Harrells Christian Academy also got a great game from a two-way player: Breelyn Peed. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out ten over four innings pitched. Peed was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs while going 3-for-4.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Izzy Bradshaw, who went 4-for-5 with four runs, two doubles, and one triple. Another player making a difference was Regan Cannon, who scored a run while going 3-for-5.
Grace Christian came up short against Harrells Christian Academy in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, falling 11-7. Can Grace Christian avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
