Volleyball Recap: Piper Hawryluk Leads a Balanced Effort to Beat Newport - Bellevue + How To Watch

There's no place like home for Skyline, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Thursday. They came out on top against the Newport - Bellevue Knights by a score of 3-1 on Tuesday. The victory continues a trend for the Spartans in their matchups with the Knights: they've now won six in a row.

Skyline had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The final score came out to 25-27, 25-12, 25-20, 25-15.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Skyline to victory, but perhaps none more so than Piper Hawryluk, who had 35 assists and five digs. The team also got some help courtesy of Sanika Vipin, who had 15 digs and five aces.

Skyline was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 15 aces. That's the most aces they've posted since back in October of 2024.

Skyline's win bumped their record up to 3-4-3. As for Newport - Bellevue, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Skyline will venture away from home to face off against Lakeside at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Newport - Bellevue, they will head out to square off against Liberty at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
