Basketball Recap: Jerrison Dixon's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Scotland over Whiteville

Scotland lost against Whiteville two weeks ago and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Scotland Fighting Scots fell 61-50 to the Whiteville Wolfpack. The Fighting Scots have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Scotland's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jerrison Dixon, who went 5 for 12 on his way to 14 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jesse Clifton, who posted eight points and ten rebounds.

Even though they lost, Scotland smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 16 offensive boards in three consecutive contests.

Scotland's defeat dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Whiteville, their win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-5.
