Football Recap: Morehead Panthers vs. Rockingham County Cougars
Morehead was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 12th straight defeat. They took a 13-7 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Rockingham County Cougars. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Panthers of the 22-20 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in August of 2023.
Morehead wouldn't let Rockingham County keep a hold of the ball as they managed to force two fumbles. Morehead can thank Brock Blizzard and Jorden Johnson for forcing both of them. Blizzard also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, forcing a fumble and making eight total tackles.
Morehead's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Rockingham County, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0.
Morehead will host Northeast Guilford at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Rockingham County, they will take on Reidsville at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
