Volleyball Recap: Merrillville Wins Going Away Against Kankakee Valley

Merrillville had to skate by with only a one-set margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the three-set drubbing they dealt Kankakee Valley on Wednesday. The Pirates blew past the Kougars 3-0. This was payback for the Pirates, who suffered a 3-1 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Merrillville walked away with the win (and looked especially good in the second set). The final score came out to 25-16, 25-14, 25-18.

Logan Krause paced Merrillville's offense, picking up six kills. Krause got some help from Maurice LaGrand and his 16 assists.

Merrillville's victory bumped their record up to 4-2.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Merrillville is set to face off against their familiar foe Valparaiso at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Kankakee Valley will square off against rival Boone Grove at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
