Basketball Game Preview: Bob Jones Patriots vs. Hoover Buccaneers

Bob Jones is 1-6 against Hoover since February of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Saturday. Having just played yesterday, the Patriots will get right back to it and host the Buccaneers at 12:00 p.m. Bob Jones will be strutting in after a win while Hoover will be coming in after a loss.

Hoover will be up against a hot Bob Jones team: the squad just extended their winning streak to three. The Patriots breezed past Mae Jemison to the tune of 71-41 on Friday. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 49-20.

Ella Watts and Ja'Kyah Smith were among the main playmakers for Bob Jones as the former shot 47% from the field to rack up 20 points and the latter went 7-for-11 on her way to 14 points. The contest was Watts' fifth in a row with at least 18 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Asia Robinson, who posted six points.

Meanwhile, Hoover had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They fell just short of Madison Central by a score of 50-48 on Saturday.

Bob Jones' victory bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Hoover, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-1.
