Soccer Recap: Carbondale Takes a Loss

While it was all tied up 0-0 at halftime, Carbondale was not quite Central's equal in the second half on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Tigers by a score of 2-1. Carbondale were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Central apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2016.

Carbondale's goal came courtesy of Sara Schurz, who's now up to 38 this season.

This is the second loss in a row for Carbondale and nudges their season record down to 9-9-1. As for Central, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-7 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Carbondale will take on Sikeston at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Central, they will challenge Saxony Lutheran at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
