Volleyball Recap: Carrollton Comes Up Short

Carrollton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Marlington Dukes. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Dukes this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-1 back in August.

The defeat didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Marlington scored at least 17 points in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 25-20, 23-25, 25-17.

Carrollton's loss dropped their record down to 4-8. As for Marlington, the win was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record up to 8-2.

Looking ahead, Carrollton will take on Alliance at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Marlington, they will face off against Lake at 11:15 a.m. on Saturday.
