Basketball Recap: Horizon Gets the Win

Horizon's game last Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. They walked away with a 60-53 win over the Arizona College Prep Knights. This was a revenge game for the Huskies: when they faced off against the Knights back in December of 2024, they had to take a 64-53 defeat.

Horizon can attribute much of their success to Brennan Korn, who went 5 for 11 en route to 13 points and four steals. Owen Brackmann was another key player, putting up ten points and six rebounds.

Horizon's victory bumped their record up to 12-9. As for Arizona College Prep, they have also been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 11 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-14 record this season.

Horizon and Desert Mountain will meet in a dog eat dog contest at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Desert Mountain knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 11 games -- so hopefully Horizon likes a good challenge. As for Arizona College Prep, they will face off against McClintock at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. That contest will pit two of the most dominant guards against one another: Asher Perez and Kyler Frye.
