Football Recap: Mcdowell Beats North Buncombe for Their Third Straight Win

McDowell won the last time they faced North Buncombe and things went their way on Friday too. The Titans enjoyed a cozy 35-19 victory over the Black Hawks. The Titans pushed the score to 35-13 by the end of the third, a deficit the Black Hawks cut but never quite recovered from.

McDowell got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Danny Charles Brown out in front who threw for 369 yards and one TD while completing 83.3% of his passes, and also rushed for 32 yards and one score. The dominant performance also gave Charles Brown a new career-high in passer rating (137.5). Hunter Pittman was in the mix too, providing McDowell with two touchdowns.

North Buncombe's loss came despite strong showings from Kyngston Denson and Ryan Moffatt. Denson rushed for 151 yards and one TD, while Moffatt rushed for 34 yards and a pair of scores.

The victory (which was McDowell's third in a row) raised their record to 4-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 8.7 points on average over those games. As for North Buncombe, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-3.

McDowell has already played their next matchup, a 60-42 victory against South Caldwell on the 3rd. As for North Buncombe, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 21-3 loss against Enka on the 3rd.
