Basketball Recap: Noah Rupert Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Hallandale

Cooper City hadn't done well against Hallandale recently (they were 0-6 in their previous six matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Cooper City Cowboys had just enough and edged the Hallandale Chargers out 84-81. This was payback for the Cowboys, who suffered a 59-56 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Cooper City's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Noah Rupert, who dropped a triple-double on 17 points, ten rebounds, and ten assists. Rupert has been hot, having also posted three or more steals the last seven times he's played. Jamier Johnston was another key player, dropping a double-double on 21 points and ten boards.

The victory made it two in a row for Cooper City and bumps their season record up to 7-8. As for Hallandale, they have been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 13 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-12 record this season.

Cooper City will head out to take on Stoneman Douglas at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Hallandale, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against Everglades at 7:30 p.m. Everglades is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 60.4 points per game this season.
