Shepard had already won seven in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7.3 runs) and they went ahead and made it eight on Monday. They never let the Argo Argonauts get on the board and left with a 10-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Astros, who have now won 12 contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Shepard pushed their record up to 17-3 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.8 runs on average over those games. As for Argo, their defeat ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 14-3.

Looking ahead, Shepard is taking a road trip to take on Blue Island Eisenhower at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Astros are facing the Cardinals at the right time seeing as the Cardinals are stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for Argo, they will challenge Oak Lawn at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Argonauts' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Spartans have averaged an impressive 6.9 runs per game this season.
