Recap: Chambers/Wheeler Central/Ewing vs. Overton

After a dominant win in their matchup last week, Chambers/Wheeler Central/Ewing was humbled on Thursday. It was close but no cigar for Chambers/Wheeler Central/Ewing as they fell 16-14 to Overton.

Elijah Heusinkvelt was the offensive standout of the game for Overton, as he rushed for 138 yards and one TD on 32 carries. In fact, with nine tackles Heusinkvelt was a force on both sides of the ball. Additional support came from defensive powerhouse Jacob Surridge, who racked up 13 tackles.

Overton's defense was a presence as well, and it made life painful for the QB and embarrassed Chambers/Wheeler Central/Ewing's offensive line for a total of six sacks. Leading the way was Christian Smith and his two sacks.

A silver lining for Chambers/Wheeler Central/Ewing was the play of Wyatt Wagner, who rushed for 103 yards and one TD on 12 carries. Chambers/Wheeler Central/Ewing received support from Wagner on the other side of the ball, too, as he amassed ten tackles.

The loss dropped Chambers/Wheeler Central/Ewing's record to 7-2. The victory improved Overton's record to 6-3.

Chambers/Wheeler Central/Ewing does not have any more games currently scheduled. As for the Eagles, they will go up against Garden County at 7 p.m. ET on Wednesday.
