Basketball Recap: Donyae Washington's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Pocomoke over Snow Hill

After flying high against Nandua last Tuesday, Pocomoke came back down to earth. The Pocomoke Warriors fell 49-36 to the Snow Hill Eagles on Saturday. The Warriors haven't had much luck with the Eagles recently, as the team has come up short the last seven times they've met.

Several Warriors players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Donyae Washington, who posted eight points along with eight rebounds and seven assists. Washington is on a roll when it comes to boards, as she's now pulled down eight or more in each of the last 42 games she's played dating back to last season. The team also got some help courtesy of Danasia Dennis, who had ten points.

Pocomoke's defeat dropped their record down to 7-13. As for Snow Hill, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-8 record this season.

Pocomoke will welcome Washington at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Snow Hill does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
