Soccer Recap: Nichols Takes a Loss

If Nichols was feeling good fresh off their 7-1 takedown of Frewsburg on Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Vikings took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the St. Joseph's Collegiate Institute Marauders on Friday. The loss continues a trend for Nichols in their meetings with St. Joseph's Collegiate Institute: they've now lost six in a row.

Nichols' goal came courtesy of Julen Fontaneda, who's now up to four this season.

Nichols' defeat dropped their record down to 5-5. As for St. Joseph's Collegiate Institute, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-5-1 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matches. Nichols will square off against Canisius at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for St. Joseph's Collegiate Institute, they will take on Iroquois at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
