Football Recap: Lake Takes a Loss

Lake was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss dating back to last season. They took a 27-20 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Maumee Panthers. The Flyers lost against the Panthers in their previous head to head back in September of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 49-7 score last time.

Lake's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Maumee, the victory got them back to even at 2-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lake will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Fostoria at 7:00 p.m. on the 26th. As for Maumee, they will venture away from home to take on Genoa Area at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Comets will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Panthers surely won't give up without a fight.
