Baseball Game Preview: Brentwood Academy Eagles vs. Ensworth Tigers

For the second straight game, Brentwood Academy will face off against Ensworth. The Eagles will be playing at home against the Tigers at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

Brentwood Academy is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering Ensworth just ended the team's four-game winning streak on Tuesday. They came up short against the Tigers, falling 10-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Eagles have suffered since March 10th.

For Ensworth's part, Daniel Ulm tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run over five innings pitched. Ulm also put up two walks, which were his first of the season.

At the plate, Carter Hullett and Layton Pewitt did most of the damage at the plate: Hullett scored two runs while going 2-for-4, while Pewitt scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Those two runs gave Hullett a new career-high. Sam Bowers was another key player, scoring a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

The win made it two in a row for Ensworth and bumps their season record up to 6-9. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.0 runs over those games. As for Brentwood Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 6-8.
