Basketball Recap: Williams Takes a Loss

Williams was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They were three points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 42-39 heartbreaker at the hands of the Cicero Prep Academy Centurions.

Cicero Prep Academy got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Chelsea Leggat out in front who almost dropped a double-double with 16 points and nine rebounds. That's the most points Leggat has posted since back in December of 2024. Ryleigh Weaver was another key player, putting up 11 points in addition to five boards and four steals.

Williams' defeat dropped their record down to 10-12. As for Cicero Prep Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a massive bump to their 17-12 record this season.

Williams does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Cicero Prep Academy, they will square off against Baboquivari at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
