Baseball Game Preview: ASPIRA Charter Wolves vs. DuPont Tigers

The ASPIRA Charter Wolves will take on the DuPont Tigers at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday. ASPIRA Charter is coming into the match on a four-game losing streak dating back to last season.

ASPIRA Charter came up short against Odyssey Charter on Tuesday, falling 23-3.

Meanwhile, after only two runs in their last contest, DuPont made sure to put some runs up on the board against Delcastle Technical on Saturday. The Tigers sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 10-9 victory over the Cougars. Considering the Tigers' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

The team relied heavily on Michael Barron, who scored a run while going 3-for-4. He also brought in three RBI, marking his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Jason Ortiz, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

DuPont always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .676. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

DuPont's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-3. As for ASPIRA Charter, their loss dropped their record down to 0-3.

ASPIRA Charter skirted past DuPont 1-0 in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Will the Wolves repeat their success, or do the Tigers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
