Volleyball Recap: North Creek Takes a Loss + How To Watch

After flying high against Sammamish on Thursday, North Creek came back down to earth. The Jaguars fell just short of the Mercer Island Islanders by a score of 3-2 on Monday. The Jaguars were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Islanders apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in September of 2018.

In a back-and-forth that saw neither team win consecutive sets, North Creek sadly dropped the once that decided the match. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 19-25, 25-17, 21-25, 15-13.

Their offense was headlined by PAIGE GELLER and LEAH MOLL, who picked up 11 kills apiece. They got some help from SYDNEY MITCHELL and her 19 assists. MOLL was also solid from the service line: she led the team with eight aces.

North Creek has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-6-2 record this season. As for Mercer Island, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-2.

North Creek didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 victory against Eastlake on the 30th. As for Mercer Island, they are taking a road trip to square off against Liberty at 7:00 p.m. on the 7th.
