Football Recap: Decatur Heritage Christian Academy Comes Up Short

Decatur Heritage Christian Academy had lost five straight at home dating back to last season, but on Friday they dropped down to 1-7 to make it six. They took a blow against the Red Bay Tigers, falling 50-9. The Eagles were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 28-3.

As for Red Bay, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 7-1. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five contests by 20 points or more this season.

Jaxon Vinson continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 253 yards and four TDs while picking up 15.8 yards per carry. That's the most rushing yards he has posted since back in August.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Decatur Heritage Christian Academy will face off against rival Winston County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Red Bay is set to square off against their familiar foe Tanner at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. That game will pit two of the most dominant backs against one another: Vinson and Torr'e Pride.
