Football Recap: White Oak Takes a Loss

White Oak lost against Liberty-Eylau back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Roughnecks took a 27-14 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Leopards.

When it comes to explaining why White Oak lost, don't look at Jaxsen Ludlow. Despite the final result, he rushed for 95 yards and one touchdown, and also threw for 88 yards and one TD.

Liberty-Eylau's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Arian Taylor led the charge by rushing for 186 yards and a pair of scores. Taylor's rushing production has been exceptional as that marked his fifth straight game with at least 115 rushing yards. Another player making a difference was Ty Hawkins, who picked up 143 receiving yards and one touchdown.

White Oak has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-3 record this season. As for Liberty-Eylau, their victory ended a four-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 3-5.

Looking ahead, White Oak will take on Tatum at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Liberty-Eylau, they will face off against Jefferson at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Bulldogs' defense has only allowed 15 points per game this season, so the Leopards' offense will have their work cut out for them.
