Softball Recap: Spring Hill Has No Trouble Against Santa Fe

Spring Hill's game last Monday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They blew past the Santa Fe Wildcats 12-6. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Raiders considering their two-run performance the match before.

Ellie Oakes was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over four innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits. Oakes was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Hailey Lippert, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Lilly Yayah, who scored two runs while going 3-for-5.

The win got Spring Hill back to even at 1-1.

Coming up, Spring Hill will head out to square off against Coffee County Central at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Santa Fe, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Santa Fe Wildcats duke it out with Hughes Lions at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
