Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Southwest). They simply couldn't be stopped on Tuesday as they easily beat the Diamond Hill-Jarvis Eagles 90-40. Given the Raiders' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 325th, while the Eagles are ranked 1033rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Despite the loss, Diamond Hill-Jarvis had strong showings from Isaiah Espinosa, who posted eight points and five rebounds, and Anthony Elizondo, who earned 15 points in addition to six assists and four steals. Elizondo has been hot, having posted 15 or more points the last five times he's played.

Southwest is on a roll lately: they've won 15 of their last 17 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 22-9 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.3 points per game. As for Diamond Hill-Jarvis, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-18.

Coincidentally, Southwest and Diamond Hill-Jarvis will both be playing Western Hills the next time they take the court. Diamond Hill-Jarvis will head out to face Western Hills at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, while Southwest will host them at 7:30 p.m. on February 4th.
