Basketball Recap: Mendon Unity Takes a Loss

If Mendon Unity was feeling good fresh off their 41-20 takedown of Barry Western on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Mustangs fell 52-48 to the Illini West Chargers on Wednesday. The Mustangs have struggled against the Chargers recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Mendon Unity's defeat dropped their record down to 8-10. As for Illini West, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 6-9 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mendon Unity won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Hamilton/Warsaw at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Mustangs' defense better be ready for this one: the Titans have averaged an impressive 61 points per game this season. As for Illini West, they will challenge Knoxville at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday.
