Softball Recap: Kenton Wildcats vs. Celina Bulldogs
Kenton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Celina Bulldogs. The Wildcats were not able to make up for their loss to the Bulldogs from their previous meeting back in April of 2023.
Peyton Rudasill was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: she pitched six innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk in six consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Kenton saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Riley Totten, who went 1-for-4 with one run.
Kenton's defeat dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Celina, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 5-2.
Looking ahead, Kenton will be playing at home against Cory-Rawson at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Celina, they are taking a road trip to square off against Coldwater at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
