Basketball Recap: South Bend St. Joseph Comes Up Short

South Bend St. Joseph was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a hard 58-39 fall against the Elkhart Lions. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Huskies of the 51-25 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in January of 2024.

When it comes to explaining why South Bend St. Joseph lost, don't look at Kayla Woods. Despite the final result, she went 5 for 9 en route to 10 points in addition to five assists and five rebounds. Karli Brooke was another key player, putting up ten points.

South Bend St. Joseph's record is now 12-8. As for Elkhart, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 13-9 record this season.

South Bend St. Joseph does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Elkhart has also already played their next contest, a 39-33 defeat against Tippecanoe Valley on the 29th.
