Basketball Game Preview: Reno Huskies vs. Carson Senators

The Reno Huskies will head out on the road to take on the Carson Senators at 5:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Reno is coming into the match hot, having won their last six games.

If Carson heads into halftime all tied up, they better play a good second half: that's when Reno took over last week. Reno blew past Douglas 54-31 on Monday. The Huskies have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine games by 22 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Carson lost 52-27 to Spanish Springs on Monday. While losing is never fun, the Senators can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Nevada basketball rankings (they are ranked 47th, while the Cougars are ranked fourth).

Reno has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.9 points per game. As for Carson, they have been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 13 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-11 record this season.

Everything came up roses for Reno against Carson in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, as the squad secured a 51-20 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Reno since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
