Soccer Game Preview: Magnolia West vs. Klein

The Magnolia West Mustangs will venture away from home to square off against the Klein Bearkats at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Magnolia West managed to keep up with Tomball until halftime on Friday, but things quickly went downhill from there. Magnolia West lost 4-0 to Tomball. While losing is never fun, the Mustangs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 374th, while the Cougars are ranked 54th).

Meanwhile, Klein fell victim to Tomball and their airtight defense on Tuesday. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cougars. The loss continues a trend for the Bearkats in their matchups with the Cougars: they've now lost three in a row.

Klein's defeat dropped their record down to 6-8. As for Magnolia West, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last eight matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-9 record this season.

Magnolia West might still be hurting after the 6-2 loss they got from Klein when the teams last played back in January. Can Magnolia West avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
