Baseball Recap: Malad Sets Scoring Season-High Against Firth

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Malad). Everything went their way against the Firth Cougars on Wednesday as they made off with a 17-5 win. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Dragons considering their one-run performance the match before.

Carter Blaisdell was a standout: he went 3-for-4 with five RBI and three runs. Those five RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Cale Briggs, who scored four runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-3.

Blaisdell wasn't the only one making solid contact: Malad kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Malad now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Firth, they moved to 7-4 with that defeat, which also ended their seven-game winning streak.

Coming up, Malad will take on Grangeville in a tournament on Friday. As for Firth, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Declo at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
