Surry Central had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5.4 runs) and they went ahead and made it six on Wednesday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Alleghany Trojans a 10-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Golden Eagles, who have now won six games by eight runs or more so far this season.

Ty Lloyd was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 4-for-4. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March of 2024. Ian Hooker was another key player, going 3-for-4 with four RBI and one stolen base.

Surry Central always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .600. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Alleghany only posted an OBP of .200.

Surry Central's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Alleghany, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-7.

Surry Central didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, an 11-0 victory against Providence Grove on the 22nd. As for Alleghany, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 3-1 defeat against Maplewood on the 21st.
