Softball Recap: Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy Wins Going Away Against Roger Bacon

Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy's game on Wednesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They blew past the Roger Bacon Spartans 11-1. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 9-6 on April 1st.

Kylene Werner made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out six batters over six innings while giving up just one earned run off six hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Gabi Koehler, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three stolen bases, three runs, and one triple. That triple was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Raven Horton, who went 3-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .588. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Roger Bacon only posted an OBP of .321.

The win got Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy back to even at 5-5. As for Roger Bacon, they moved to 5-4 with that loss, which also ended their four-game winning streak.
