Volleyball Preview: Highmore/Harrold Pirates vs. Hitchcock-Tulare Patriots
The Highmore/Harrold Pirates will head out on the road to square off against the Hitchcock-Tulare Patriots at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday.
Last Tuesday, Highmore/Harrold didn't have quite enough to beat Potter County co-op [Gettysburg/Hoven] and fell 3-2. The Pirates have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Highmore/Harrold took Potter County co-op [Gettysburg/Hoven] into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking two-point loss. The final score came out to 20-25, 25-13, 25-19, 18-25, 15-13.
Meanwhile, Hitchcock-Tulare put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. Everything went their way against Aberdeen Christian as Hitchcock-Tulare made off with a 3-0 win.
After all that action, the final score was 25-16, 25-15, 25-20.
Hitchcock-Tulare can attribute much of their success to Cambree Hoekman, who had 16 digs. Hoekman is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in the last four games she's played dating back to last season.
Highmore/Harrold now has a losing record at 4-5. As for Hitchcock-Tulare, they pushed their record up to 12-0 with that victory, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season.
Highmore/Harrold came up short against Hitchcock-Tulare in their previous matchup back in September of 2023, falling 2-0. Can Highmore/Harrold avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
