Basketball Recap: Salina Central Comes Up Short

It looked like the Kentucky Derby when Salina Central duked it out with Haysville Campus on Friday. The Salina Central Mustangs were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 56-55 to the Haysville Campus Colts. The Mustangs haven't had much luck with the Colts recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Several Mustangs players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kamryn Jones, who posted 14 points. Jones continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Noah Peck, who had six points and eight boards.

Salina Central's defeat dropped their record down to 8-12. As for Haysville Campus, their victory ended a seven-game drought at home and bumped them up to 2-16.

Salina Central has already played their next game, a 61-44 loss against Andover on the 5th. As for Haysville Campus, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 73-43 defeat against Derby on the 4th.
