Basketball Recap: Southwestern Takes a Loss

Southwestern was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 47-33 bruising from the Brown County Eagles. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Spartans of the 60-43 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in January of 2024.

When it comes to explaining why Southwestern lost, don't look at Tanna Tatlock. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 21 points and 12 boards. That was a full 63.6% of Southwestern's points, marking the 21st time in a row she's posted more than a third of the team's points.

Southwestern's record is now 3-19. As for Brown County, they moved to 2-15 with that win, which also ended their 15-game losing streak.

Southwestern wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 44-37 loss against Greenwood Christian Academy on the 30th. As for Brown County, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 57-16 defeat against Indian Creek on the 30th.
