Basketball Recap: Kennedy Takes a Loss

Kennedy was the 69-66 winner over Manual Arts when they last played one another back in February of 2019, but their luck changed this time around. The Kennedy Cougars fell 60-47 to the Manual Arts Toilers on Thursday. The Cougars have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the loss, Kennedy still got an impressive performance from John Estrada, who went 8 for 19 on his way to 19 points in addition to seven rebounds and six steals. With that strong performance, Estrada is now averaging an impressive 16 points per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Adam Aldrete, who posted 14 points.

Even though they lost, Kennedy was working as a unit and finished the game with 12 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Manual Arts only racked up six assists.

It was another big night for Devin Moody, who dropped a double-double on 27 points and 17 boards for Manual Arts. Moody has been hot for a while, having posted 16 or more points the last 32 times he's played. Dominique Lamb was another key player, going 8 of 10 on his way to 17 points.

Kennedy's defeat dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Manual Arts, their win bumped their record up to 4-6.

Kennedy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 49-39 victory against Hollywood on the 27th. As for Manual Arts, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 70-66 win against Cathedral on the 27th.
