Football Recap: Oxford Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Oxford can now relate to. They were dealt a 45-6 loss at the hands of the Randolph Blue Devils on Friday. The Pirates lost against the Blue Devils in their previous head to head back in November of 2021, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 8-6 score last time.

Savior Aiguier threw for 50 yards and one touchdown. Nolan Remington was his top target, picking up 81 receiving yards. On the ground, Jack Grenier rushed for 73 yards.

Oxford is on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-6. As for Randolph, the win keeps them at an undefeated 9-0.

Oxford will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Millbury at 10:00 a.m. on the 27th. As for Randolph, they will host Hoosac Valley at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Blue Devils will need to watch out since the Hurricanes have now posted at least 31 points in their last three games.
