Franklin Central extended their winning streak to seven games thanks to a huge performance from Cicily Borders. The Flashes came out on top against the Franklin Community Grizzly Cubs by a score of 3-1 on Monday with plenty of help from Borders, who had 20 digs and two assists. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 10.9 digs per game.
Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 26-24, 25-21, 20-25, 25-17.
Franklin Central was led to victory by Katie Bailey and Ryelle Koomler. Bailey had ten digs and two aces, while Koomler had 22 kills and eight digs. Those 22 kills gave Koomler a new career-high. Kinley Huotari also deserves some recognition as she had her first kills of the season.
They weren't the only good server: Franklin Central was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 15 aces. They served one more ace than Franklin Community's also-impressive total of 14.
Despite the defeat, Franklin Community saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Nila Netter had five digs and four aces.
Franklin Central's record now sits at 7-1. As for Franklin Community, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 6-1.
