Volleyball Preview: Basalt Longhorns vs. Roaring Fork Rams
Basalt is 8-2 against Roaring Fork since April of 2021, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Basalt Longhorns will look to defend their home court against the Roaring Fork Rams at 6:30 p.m. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Having struggled with six defeats in a row, Basalt finally turned things around against Coal Ridge on Thursday. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Titans.
Basalt had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 22-25, 25-20, 25-22, 25-21.
Meanwhile, Roaring Fork posted their biggest win since August 28th on Thursday. They were the clear victor by a 3-0 margin over Moffat County. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Rams.
Roaring Fork never let Moffat County on the board, but things got pretty close in the third set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 25-18, 25-23.
Basalt's victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-7. As for Roaring Fork, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-9.
