Softball Recap: Mauldin Comes Up Short

After flying high against Spartanburg on Friday, Mauldin came back down to earth. The Mavericks came up short against the James F. Byrnes Rebels on Monday, falling 8-2. The defeat continues a trend for the Mavericks in their meetings with the Rebels: they've now lost three in a row.

Mauldin saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jaycie Santana, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

Mauldin's loss dropped their record down to 6-19. As for James F. Byrnes, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 24-5 record this season.

As of now, neither Mauldin nor James F. Byrnes have any future games scheduled.
