Volleyball Recap: Northridge Takes a Loss

The Northridge Raiders came up short against the Warsaw Tigers on Thursday, falling 3-0. The Raiders have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

While Northridge was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the third set. The final score came out to 25-21, 25-19, 25-23.

Owen Holmes paced Northridge's offense, picking up nine kills. Holmes got some help from Rhyan Otto and his 16 assists. Holmes was also a major player on defense: he and Jysen Besser shared the team lead in blocks, finishing with three each.

Northridge's defeat dropped their record down to 8-10. As for Warsaw, their win bumped their record up to 10-7.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Northridge will take on South Bend Adams at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Raiders are facing the Eagles at the right time seeing as the Eagles are stuck on a seven-game losing streak. After both having extra time off, Warsaw and Penn will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
