Basketball Game Preview: East Alton-Wood River Oilers vs. Breese Central Cougars

East Alton-Wood River is 0-7 against Breese Central since January of 2022 but things could change on Monday. The East Alton-Wood River Oilers will look to defend their home court against the Breese Central Cougars at 6:00 p.m. East Alton-Wood River has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.

Last Wednesday, East Alton-Wood River beat Mt. Olive 59-51.

Meanwhile, Breese Central entered their tilt with Teutopolis on Saturday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Wooden Shoes 57-30. The Cougars have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 15 games by 20 points or more this season.

Breese Central pushed their record up to 23-2 with the win, which was their 21st straight at home dating back to last season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 30.7 points. As for East Alton-Wood River, their victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 9-16.

East Alton-Wood River took a serious blow against Breese Central in their previous meeting back in January, falling 74-29. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point East Alton-Wood River was down 46-19.
